Last minute getaway.

With the Hunter Valley only a tantalising 2 hours drive away from Sydney, I found myself booking a last minute couples retreat on a stressful Friday afternoon. And so with weekend bags packed we headed to Mystwood Retreats in Wollombi to seek some seclusion.

No ordinary cabin.

There would be no winter blues for us in our well stocked cabin with its huge fireplace and private outdoor spa. We settled in for the cold night with a bottle of delicious local vino. 

And then there was wine.

This being our second trip to the Hunter region we took the wine trail from Wollombi to Broke dabbling in some Biodynamic wines along the way and filling the car with my favoured Semillons. 

Local festivities.

The Wollombi fair provided some local entertainment with fresh produce, delicious dairy and some good spicy chai. A feast on the eyes and the tastebuds, make sure to fit in an annual weekend trip here.
